Before you put up the decorations….let Parvin’s elves make your house look fabulous

It’s a little-known fact that the period between Haloween (spray-on spider-webs and flourescent aerosol shoestrings) and Christmas (cards, trees and stockings) may have been invented by super-intelligent mice in Victorian London as a winter ritual to keep them safe from the cats of Chelsea.

These mice used subtle mind control techniques to force house-owners into painting their houses in these late autumn weeks. Cats, of course, hate the smell of fresh paint and the mice would get a month of peace in which to wrap their presents.

Many people are still unaware of this, and simply attribute the desire to get their houses painted at this time of year to sensible-sounding reasons – such as the difficulty of painting around the Christmas tree, or the impending arrival of disapproving Aunts from the Country.

It’s a perfectly understandable misconception, and we are happy to help our customers honour the tradition even if its true significance remains unknown.
