A London decorating case study

We are currently putting finishing touches to a project on West Hill in Wandsworth. The property is a substantial Georgian mansion, tastefully converted into nine well-sized flats as well as a converted stables building, a gate house, and an adjoining Orangery.

It may well have been originally built as a country retreat for a wealthy London gentleman. Wandsworth in the 18th century was a small group of rural villages surrounded by farmland, but the bridges at Putney and Battersea, and better roads, increased traffic with London and the south coast. The proximity to London made it a popular spot for highwaymen.

Our work, for the building’s management company, has included refurbishing all the common areas of the building and repainting all the exterior woodwork. We have completed repairs to the building where needed including areas of rendering, stonework and carpentry. We were also able to complete repairs to an original architectural feature, a wrought iron pulley system on the Stables block.

It’s been a large job but we are happy to say that we have been able to stay within the schedule set and to deliver a very high-quality job.

For your own decorating, when the time comes, we’ll be happy to give the same degree of care and quality. Call Holly at our office to arrange a quote.

All the best
